Mrs F came to Bristol Builders Network (BBN) in the summer of this year wanting our help and expertise when building a garage conversion within her home. These clients wanted to make use of what could be a valuable asset, through garage extension. Our builders made sure all the essential steps when building the conversion were done. This included adding floor insulation, which is always absent in a garage.
An assessment of the initial space was done during the design process. This revealed the full extent of the work needed to create the clients’ dream living space. In this case, the original garage was a detached space which the client wanted to be transformed into a quiet office space. BBN were able to provide the client with all the specialists she needed to build her relaxing space. This included interior designers, painters, electricians and plasterers etc.
Garage Conversion Cost

Our cost for garage conversions is between £1,000 and £1,250 depending on the difficulty of the design. Due to not needing to make any major structural changes within this design, the extension was charged at £1,000 per square meter for the 18m2 space. However, this conversion had the potential to add between 10 to 15% onto the value of the existing family property.
Garage conversions are becoming increasingly popular across the UK. They provide an alternative to moving house. But, before you go ahead and convert a garage you need to be sure you have off-road parking or somewhere else to park your vehicle. You will also need somewhere to store all the junk and possessions that are currently in your garage. Asides converting your garage, BBN can also help you with basement and loft conversions. These provide excellent alternatives when a garage extension is not possible or not a viable option.
